O. Wayne Rollins*

O. Wayne Rollins grew up on a farm in northwest Georgia. He worked 72 hours a week in a cotton mill during the Depression and went on to amass a fortune estimated at $930 million. Cofounder of Rollins, Inc., one of the world’s largest service companies, he donated the first $10 million to Emory University’s science research center, which was named after him. He died in 1991 at the age of 79.
