Dr Robert Schuller
Born September 16, 1926, in Alton, Iowa, Robert Schuller was the youngest of five children of a hard-working and religious Iowa farmer. The entire family worked through droughts and the Depression to keep going, even after a tornado destroyed the entire farm. Educated in a one-room schoolhouse, Robert committed early to his goal of the ministry.
He worked his way through college as a janitor and was ordained in 1950. In California in 1955, with a budget of $500, he rented an old drive-in movie theater, turning it into a drive-in church. Today, his motivational books are best-sellers, and his weekly TV congregation numbers in the millions.
