Mark Sanborn, CSP, CPAE, was inducted to the SMEI Academy of Achievement Hall of Fame on September 22, 2007 in Dallas, TX as SMEI’s 2007 Ambassador of Free Enterprise.
Mark gave his first speech at the age of 10 in a 4-H safety speaking contest. Public speaking became his passion and eventually his vocation. A graduate of Ohio State University, Mark worked his way through college as an after dinner speaker. After graduation, he worked in the magazine publishing industry. He entered professional speaking full time in 1986.
Mark is the president of Sanborn & Associates Inc., an idea lab dedicated to developing leaders in business and life. An internationally recognized speaker and author, his books include: The Fred Factor: How Passion in Your Work and Life Can Turn the Ordinary into the Extraordinary, a BusinessWeek and Wall Street Journal best-seller, and You Don’t Need a Title to be a Leader: How Anyone, Anywhere Can Make a Positive Difference.
Mark is a member of Speakers Roundtable, consisting of 20 of the top speakers in the world today. Mark served as the president of the National Speakers Association in 2003-2004 and has earned their highest honor, the Cavett award and is a member of the exclusive Speaker Hall of Fame.
