Buck Laird

Buck Laird is the former Managing Director of Anthology Marketing Group based in Honolulu and now serves as an advisor to Anthology’s advertising unit, Laird Christianson Advertising, which he co-founded in 1989 and today is Hawaii’s largest advertising agency. He relinquished his full time duties at Anthology in early 2008 to devote time to his portfolio of pursuits, which includes the creation of Laguna Pacific Advisors, LLC. The group specializes in consulting services in Advertising, Brand Stewardship, and Agency Entrepreneurship.
Laird’s advertising career began in 1978 at a small Honolulu agency and progressed to his appointment as Senior Vice President at Starr Seigle McCombs prior to the start up of Laird Christianson Advertising. He has directed the advertising accounts of AIG Hawaii, Avis Rent a Car, Centex Destination Properties – Hawaii, Emerald Hotels, Hawaii Chevrolet Dealers, Hilton Hotels Hawai`i, Holiday Inn Hotels Hawai`i, KFC International-Hawai`i, Marriott Hotels Hawai`i, Marriott Vacation Club International, Prince Resorts Hawai`i, Wailea Destination Association, and many other Hawai`i brands.
In 2004 Laird was presented with the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Award. Laird serves as a director of the American Red Cross Hawaii Chapter; the Hawai’i Theater Center; and is the immediate past president of the Susannah Wesley Community Center. He is married to author/educator Donivee Martin Laird and they have two married children.
The Lairds enjoy skiing and cycling, and can often be found working and playing at their Canadian home on Quadra Island, B.C.
